Matt Strout
Coach Matt Strout has a well-rounded playing and coaching career. He began his playing career at a young age with the Northport Soccer club and Lake Grove Soccer club. He was awarded both an academic and athletic scholarship to attend the University of Bridgeport, where he played for three years before transferring to SUNY College at Old Westbury. After college, Matt went overseas to participate in a preseason with Clitroe FC in England, playing against notable opponents such as Bolton Wanderers. He also played in Portugal with a showcase team that played against professional clubs, showcasing his skills in front of scouts and agents. Matt had a trial with the Michigan Stars before the impact of COVID-19.
Matt has extensive coaching experience, working for various clubs and programs. He has worked with the Plainview Old Bethpage club, offering goalkeeping training, intramural, and intense training programs. Matt has also served as the First Assistant Coach at SUNY College at Old Westbury, assisting the head coach and running training sessions for the team. In addition, he was involved in the recruitment of athletes for the university. Matt has also worked with the prestigious Met Oval Academy, under Yannick Salmon and Jeffrey Bolivar, assisting with ball mastery and agility training. Currently, Matt works with Royal Sporting Group at clubs such as the Franklin Square Raiders and Garden City Centennials.
Matt holds a USSF National C license and a FAW level 2 license. He plans to pursue USSF B and UEFA B licenses in the near future.
Matt Strout is a true professional in every sense of the word.
